Catch the 7pm shootout.
One show a night, in season. Get there by 6:45 if you want a good spot.
Williams has been staging Wild West shootouts on Main Street since long enough that nobody around here remembers it starting. Locals walk past it on the way to dinner. Tourists who happen to be standing at the right corner get the show of their lives.
It runs nightly through summer and into the early fall — dust gets kicked, cowboys argue, somebody falls dramatically into the street. It's twelve minutes long. It's free. It's exactly the right amount of corny.
The catch: the good viewing spots are gone by 6:50. Plant yourself near the corner of 2nd and Route 66, or grab a seat on the patio at Cruiser's or Pancho McGillicuddy's where you can eat and watch at the same time.
